Equipped to excel program
The Crockett Foundation has always taken an interest in equipping young people with the tools and know-how to become successful and contributing members of society. Over the years the Foundation has consistently provided youths in Atlanta and South Florida areas with a variety of mentoring programs in addition to after school tutors and evening homework workshops. In an attempt to prepare today’s youths to compete in a highly technical and ever changing global workforce, The Crockett Foundation recently developed a new resource combining SAT/FCAT and college preparation coursework along with a comprehensive character development and life skills program to create a unique curriculum aimed at empowering young people across South Florida.
The Equipped to Excel program seeks to maximize the individual potential of each and every participant involved. The program focuses on developing communication and technical skills while encouraging and aiding students in the pursuit of post secondary school educations and career training. Equipped to Excel builds self esteem, self respect, and respect for others through an exciting and relevant curriculum and is currently being made available to students at select high schools in Broward County free of charge. The Crockett Foundation would like to see every young adult receive equal opportunity to make use of this resource and aims to continue to expand its reach by making the program available to high school students across all of South Florida.
